Grand Avenue Bridge Replacement

Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Tsiouvaras Simmons Holderness led the engineering, project development, and design as a major subconsultant to Jacobs Engineering for the SH 82 (Grand Avenue) reconstruction in downtown Glenwood Springs, CO. TSH’s role included project management, bridge and structural design, roadway alternatives, hydrology, traffic engineering, support for the environmental assessment, and post-design services. TSH, as part of a consultant team, developed and analyzed alternatives for the Grand Avenue Bridge replacement in Glenwood Springs. This project was completed utilizing the CM/GC alternate delivery method. The nearly 1,000 foot long bridge connects downtown to I-70. TSH solved the complex site geometry that required the use of horizontal curved trapezoidal steel boxes with a 675 foot miniumum radius.
