Grand Avenue Bridge Replacement

Glenwood Springs, Colorado

As a subconsultant to Jacobs Engineering, Tsiouvaras Simmons Holderness has developed and analyzed alternatives for the Grand Avenue Bridge replacement in Glenwood Springs. The alternative with a new bridge alignment requires modifications to intersections on SH 82 and local access intersections. The selected alternative was chosen because it improved pedestrian and local traffic in the Hot Springs Pool area, improved regional traffic flow, and improved construction phasing opportunities. TSH developed multiple alternative designs for the I-70 Exit 116 area, with the selected design being a unique combination of roundabout, signals, and a pedestrian underpass.

  • Developed a new way of streamlining traffic operations using a roundabout, signals, and a pedestrian underpass
  • Improves pedestrian and cyclist access
