Pearl Parkway Multi-Way Boulevard and Multi-Use Path

Boulder, Colorado

Tsiouvaras Simmons Holderness recently completed design work for two projects along Pearl Parkway, a major urban arterial in Boulder that is a vital transportation corridor for various modes of transportation including automobile, pedestrian, bicycle, and bus traffic. The multi-way boulevard and multi-use path enhance access to the planned redevelopment projects currently on-going in the Boulder Junction area. Both sides of the roadway featured the design of a multi-way boulevard, street lighting upgrades, brick paver and concrete scoring design, and a new traffic signal at Junction Place. The north side of the project included a new multi-use path connecting to the existing Goose Creek path.

  • Designed multi-way boulevard concept that balances vehicular traffic with safe travel for cyclists and pedestrians, while providing access to high-density developments
  • Designed streetscape including brick pavers, scored concrete, landscaping and transit stops
