Tsiouvaras Simmons Holderness was the design consultant for this project under the alternative bridge design as allowed by CDOT Region 2.  The alternative structure type developed and designed by TSH allowed the contractor to bid the project $9.2M below the next lowest bidder with the only bid price meeting CDOT budget.  Careful steps have been taken to ensure the alternative design is in conformance with the original environmental documents meeting all water quality, historic, 4(f) requirements and the aesthetic commitments to the citizens of Trinidad.   The project center piece is a curved variable depth segmentally erected spliced box bridge with a main span of 260 feet.  The project included elevated ramps and unique deck design.
