This project involves professional design engineering and related services for the reconstruction of 1.25 miles of roadway. Tsiouvaras Simmons Holderness is the prime design consultant for the reconstruction of Broadway from Wesley to Iowa in Denver. This 9 block project also includes reconstruction of 3 blocks of Evans Avenue. Traffic engineering work for this project included a traffic study for the intersection configurations, including widening and turn lane improvements at the Broadway / Evans intersection. TSH provided capacity analysis for multiple laneage alternatives, which also included a comparison of transit enhancement opportunities and improving the pedestrian environment at the intersection. The work included alignment and intersection alternatives along the corridor to improve intersection alignments, reduce pedestrian crossing distances, and retain as much parking as possible.
